Hello friendly friends! ‘Tis the season for holiday get togethers and seasonal parties and therefore this post is multi-purposeful. 1. Tell you all about a great Minneapolis hotel wedding venue and 2. in order to extend an invitation for a winter open house (read all the way through to find the invite!). I’ve got Christina Formico here to give us the scoop!
Christina, as the wedding specialist what role do you play for weddings at the hotel?
I work with couples from the initial tour until long after the bouquet toss. Once a wedding is booked, I am the couple’s go-to for everything venue related, and I am always happy to help suggest vendors or décor recommendations for our ballroom. On day of, you can usually find me assisting with décor set up and ensuring all vendors are setting up on time. I also like to think of myself as the bride’s go-to for any day of needs. It’s her special day and I like to make sure she is as stress free as possible.
What are some things about your space that brides and grooms rave about?
Couples love our Minneapolis location; It’s perfect for entertaining out-of-town guests and easily accessible for any guests traveling into the Twin Cities. They also love our space; we’ve had an incredible amount of positive feedback about our ballroom and outdoor patio area. The ballroom is located off of the lobby but is tucked back to ensure privacy, it makes the experience that much more special. What people love about having their wedding at a hotel is that you can take the elevator right to your suite. We also have a very guest focused approach to everything we do and it comes across in any reviews you read.
Our main venue space, the East Town Ballroom, is able to accommodate parties up to 350 wedding guests. However, we are able to customize the ballroom size to match couple’s needs. We offer private indoor and outdoor ceremony locations, and a bridal suite for the day of. We also offer rehearsal dinners and farewell brunches; we like to create a custom wedding weekend experience for all of our couples.
We do offer a selection of delicious desserts in house, however if couples are looking for something else we recommend going to Nothing Bundt Cakes or Glam Doll Donuts for a unique (and tasty) dessert, or Buttercream for a more traditional cake.
Tell me about the add ons, what can couples get besides a room
First off, we offer a complimentary king suite to the couple for the night of their wedding, and waive the cake cutting fee, as well as the room flip fee. Couples are more than welcome to leave gifts for their guests with the front desk, and we are happy to hand them out as guests check in. And for five-dollars per bag we can hand deliver each one to the guest’s room!
What are your favorite venues that couples use when they only do a room block for their wedding?
We always hope that couples will enjoy our space but when it doesn’t suit their size needs we recommend Day Block, Varsity Theatre, and Charter Cruises at Bohemian Flats. We have a great relationship with all three and are happy to partake in any way on your big day, even if it just means providing a place for guests to stay and eat breakfast at!
Minneapolis weddings are my passion. I love helping couples achieve their perfect wedding day without breaking the bank.
We’d love to meet you at our A Wedding for All Seasons open house on December 4th from 1 to 4pm. If you’d like more information please visit our event page here.
Advice for couples getting married in Minnesota?
Not all of your wedding photos need to be on site! Work with your photographer to set some shots up around areas that are meaningful to you. My favorite part of the job is being able to give each couple a wedding better than they ever expected. Seeing how happy they are on their big day makes every late night worthwhile.
